- This is the third Halloweenvark (Halloween themed) episode.
- The title has "Boo" in the title just like the Halloween episode of season 2.
- The title is a play on Malibu.
- Willow was mentioned as boycotting Halloween for cruelty to pumpkins. However, vegetarians eat pumpkins and don't have a problem with it.
- This is also the first episode where Willow makes a mentioned appearance rather than a physical one.
- Due to the episode being aired out of production order, Bernie's ankle is healed, but will still be broken when the season resumes.
- Elie Samouhi celebrated his eleventh birthday during the production of this episode.
- This episode has no cold opening, it starts directly with the theme song.
